Warehouse Safety: Pallet Rack Safety Panels & Netting

If you have a large warehouse with pallet racks that go to the ceiling, it is an important safety precaution to install safety panels or netting on your pallet racks. This will prevent items from falling off your pallet racks and potentially injuring someone or damaging the product. You can install safety panels that are made with welded steel wires that mount directly on to the pallet rack or netting that is made with flame retardant nylon mesh. How to Safely Stack Steel Drums in a Warehouse

To maximize space and efficiently, you will need to go vertical when storing your warehouse material. Steel drums are used in many warehouses to store both dry and liquid products. Steel drums are used because of their strength, durability and resistance to extreme temperatures. It is important to keep in mind what the steel drums are holding when stacking them. Steel drums that contain hazardous material with a specific gravity of 1.5 or less can be safely stacked at four drums high. For more in-depth information about stacking steel drums, visit the Material Handling Wholesaler website...

Heat Illness and Adjusting to Summer Temperatures

During the summer, it is important to be aware of heat illness, especially for those working in a warehouse or anyone that is exposed to heat and humid conditions. Virtual Vision® Allows Workers to See Through High-speed Doors

The new Virtual Vision allows workers to actually see through high-speed doors! This is a lot better than light communication systems that use arrows and countdowns to alert workers when a door is about to close. Knowing if something is about to come through the door can prevent a lot of potential accidents. It also helps prevent the second most common type of forklift accidents: the forklift and worker collision. Along with the ability to see through the doors, it also has motion sensor LEDs that light up red and flash when someone is approaching from either side.
